This is my white balance photo. I used a F14, shutter speed of 1/200 and ISO 640. I preferred the cloudy setting because it gave it a warmer touch to it and this being Fall - I thought it made it more "Fallish Looking". What I would change - I would have used a lower aperature number than 14. I wanted to include the background but I got more background then what I wanted.
I agree, nice fall colors. I like the tall grass fronds rising up in the front.(Those birds are American Coots, if you are interested.)
ReplyDeleteIf you wanted to open up the aperature in order to get more light, perhaps instead you could have raised the ISO, thus maintaining the depth of field? But maybe you wish the background was more blurry. I like the background, puts a "lid" on the photo and draws my eye into the picture.
Love that you were thinking of how to embellish the light in this scene by adjusting the White Balance - the camera then becomes an artist's brush when you know and intentionally use it in this way. Therefore your images evolve from mere snapshots to artwork. ALso LOVE that you were exploring the exposure settings to create the mood of the scene. As you continue to experiment, you will mentally get those settings dialed in, so you will KNOW exactly what aperture, shutter, ISO works specifically with every lighting situation you encounter. GREAT JOB - fearlessly - moving dials around on your camera in an attempt to capture the scene the way you wanted the viewer to experience it! KEEP PLAYING and Having FUN. :-)
